Book Review: "The Return of the Discontinued Man" by Mark Hodder

First, a disclaimer, this is a 'review' in the loosest sense possible. I read the book, and here are some of my thoughts on it. There won't be an in-depth literary analysis, just some stream of consciousness wandering of my thoughts and opinions on the book.
The super short review: Read it, It has enjoyable characters, witty dialog, and an exciting setting. It even delves into some fun speculative areas in politics / world building.
=> but hold off if you haven't read all of the earlier books first. If you need a quick recap:
#1: The Strange Affair of Spring Heeled Jack
#2: The Curious Case of the Clockwork Man
#3: Expedition to the Mountains of the Moon
#4: The Secret of Abdu El Yezdi
#5: this one! =>The Return of the Discontinued Man
Burton & Swinburne are back at it. The beginning of the book is a bit hard to follow, and I think that was by design, to help us sympathize with Sir Burton's situation. As he begins to figure out what is happening both to him, and the world around him. He is being helped along by his near constant companion Algernon Swinburne.
Eventually, the situation is assessed and a plan is enacted, a plan to voyage into the future to right all wrongs and stabilize the timelines (it'll make more sense as you read it).
If you want to chat more, we can do that in the comments, it's a fun read. I don't think I liked it as much as the first... let's say 3. But 4 and 5 are definitely worth the time.

Adventures in beekeeping! - the journey begins.
So, my sister tells me she has bees in a wall of a building near her house.
Her house is about 3 hours away from mine, so I won't be able to monitor them regularly. And, as far as I know, she nor my parents have any desire to take care of bees, so...
I decide to build a Warré hive for them. Warré hive plans.
So, I built a jig, so the boxes would be consistent. And I made a hive. (I also made some extra boxes)
Then I went off and removed the bees from her wall.
So I got them out of the wall, and into their new hive over along a fence row.
I hope you are happy little bees. I'll come check on you soon as I can!
We also got some honey, so that was a nice bonus.

Hey all. Well, i'm going to try this blogging thing. I don't really know where i'm headed, but let's find out.
Likely topics:
1) Comic books - I have a pull list at my local shop, you should expect comicbooks to be discussed often (weekly perhaps)
2) RPGs - as in, role-playing games, not rocket propelled grenades. I read and think about them far more often than I play. :(
3) General geek culture- shocked, huh?
4) Beekeeping - I am becoming a beekeeper this year, it's going to be a very cool learning experience.
5) lots of other stuff. I am a very train of consciousness thinker, and some times the tracks can't hold me.
